It’s final were going home. Pam booked our flight back to our boat in Guatemala for Feb 8th Orlando,FA- Feb 9th Guatemala. We have been so busy I forgot how long it had been since we did a blog. What have we been doing. Mostly working on our little house out here but some of life out here is living out on the farm. “Our son’s farm that is.” There are eggs to gather and nest to be cleaned so they like their nest in the chicken house and won’t lay down in the barn some where. These are free range chickens let out every morning and shut up at night. His little farm seats along way to the next house. Living like this he has a pet goat that runs free and is very mischievous. She gets in the UPS truck with the driver if he is delivering packages. He has a fence around the back of the house for a dog pen. If she can find a way “if she is bored” to get in the pen she will butt the back door until he comes out to make her leave the pen. I think she like the attention and the chase getting her out of the dog pen. When people come in the yard the first thing they say is your goat is out. As I said she is never in and where would she want to go if she wanted to run away. Christmas we were all coming and going in his house when I ask our son if he was now letting the goat in the house. The chase to get her out was on and I know she was enjoying it. On top of chickens cows and a goat our son has puppies. His old dog Suzy is a real fine dog if you like a quite well mannered dog that likes to ride in a car or truck. We will go get her some time if we are going somewhere and not going to be long in a store. If you ask her if she wants to go she will go stand by the door. Ask her in the yard she will go stand by the truck. Life is good out here and we do have a life out here but we have a life on our boat too. Pam will lie to me sometimes when I ask here if she is all right and I have to look in her eyes to know. After 55 years I don’t have to ask if she is ready to go back home to our boat. To our friends back in the Rio it won’t be long until we will be walking down the road back to our boat. If you see us coming you can run up the road and help us with our luggage and see Pam’s sad face turn to a happy face when she sees our old boat hopefully setting there looking lonely at the dock. See everyone soon.

More Projects
Pam and I have been married now over 55 years as I have said in lots of our blogs so I have never had a mistress. I can only think how that could be torn between two women you want to be with. Now that we own a little house in Kansas and our sail boat back now in the Caribbean we are enjoying being bought places. The problem is when we are there in either place when do we leave to go to the other. We have always lived doing projects. Along with all this doing things gives new meaning to project and making a living. Through all this we have for ever made trips some where. Out here we are into project and the adventure of being so close to farming that is every where out here. A rich farmer went on a few days vacation leaving his farm to his hired hand. Our son on stand by if any thing happened and the hired hand needed help. Our son got the flu and this put him to bed. As farming is most of the time things happen. Some cows got sick. I made the run to the vet for medication for our son now in bed. Cows are not like dogs and you don’t just call them to come over and get their shots. I tried to help. I was raised on a farm. A chickens farm selling eggs. No herding involved. Now with all of this remember I’m getting old. Trying as hard as I could involved some running, hand waving and trying to stand my ground with cows coming at you making noises I don’t understand. At one point this left me doing a peter-pan dive into wet cow manure. So much for real farm life. Living on a farm gives new meaning to licking your lips if they’re dry.
Our son is always doing projects and we have been helping him take down an old building for the 100 plus year old lumber. The finest lumber at the time. A lot you can not buy any more.
Me I have a project I want to do some time and need some parts from an old truck so we found one free for the taking.
Getting old sucks. So much to do so little time. See our friends back in the Caribbean soon.
